Happy Halloween: April Summers Style

HappyHalloween

Happy Halloween to you! Enjoy this short horror film directed by Playboy Playmate, April Summers. This black and white short film is done very well, and uses the “less is more” theme to it, which works beautifully with this short horror film. It will remind you of the master horror himself, Alfred Hitchcock. Also, be on the lookout for my exclusive interview with April Summers, which will you find here on justinmarroquin.com and nowhere else.

Strong And Vibrant: Lena Martinson

Lena Martinson 1It takes a lot of determination and a strong sense of yourself to become a model. Enter Lena Martinson. She knows what she wants, and she won’t stop until she accomplishes all of her goals. Lena shared with me her goals, how she handles negativity, and what her first photo shoot was like.

Justin Marroquin: What got you interested in modeling?

Lena Martinson: I’ve always just had interest in it since I was a little girl. The supermodels in the Vogue magazines always looked so strong and vibrant to me—I wanted to be just like them.

JM: How did your first photo shoot go?

LM: Terribly awkward. We met underneath a freeway bridge in the boonies of Orange County, CA. I thought I was gonna get kidnapped to say the least!

Lena Martinson 2JM: What are some setbacks you have faced?

LM: My height! Unfortunately to be a supermodel, you must be 5’10” and up(somewhere around there).

JM: Were you always interested in Playboy?

LM: Ever since I was 12 years old!

JM: Is Playboy the ultimate goal for you?

LM: It’s not the “ultimate” goal, but it would definitely be an accomplishment.

Lena Martinson 3JM: How do you handle criticism and negativity?

LM: Depends on who it’s coming from. If it’s coming from an artist I admire, then I’ll use it as constructive criticism and better myself from it. If it’s from someone who in my opinion—has no room to say anything at all, then I just ignore it. There’s too much of it in this industry to let it get me down!

JM: Of all the modeling you’ve done, what is your best memory?

LM: Wow. There’s a ton! But I’d have to say the best one is the first shoot I did this year that really got me back into modeling after three years of being out of it! The photographer was great, and very diverse. He had tons of wardrobe, so I didn’t have to worry about scrambling through my closet that morning, and he was ten steps away from the Venice Beach boardwalk. Nothing’s better than that.

941993_149220371924446_1782303224_nJM: What else are you passionate about besides modeling?

LM: Many, many things! I love to cook, design my own clothes, dance, and lately I’ve been interested in acting. The list could go on for days, but that’s just a select few.

JM: Name your top three goals you would like to achieve?

LM: Within the next few years: Become a Playboy Playmate, start my acting career, and get a townhouse in downtown NYC!

1150856_186593618187121_1668236584_nJM: Share one piece of advice that has helped you the most in your life?

LM: You’ve got to spend money to make money, and never mix business with pleasure! The two truest statements I have ever heard.

It’s Always Sunny In London: April Summers

April Summers 1There are girls in this world that will leave you speechless. April Summers is that girl. Actress. Model. TV Presenter. Playboy Playmate. April is lighting up the UK with her beauty, and she plans to do the same here in the US. Without a doubt, I think April will not only have the UK and US speechless, but the rest of the world as well.

Justin Marroquin: How does it feel to be a Playboy Playmate?

April Summers: Fantastic! It is a real joy to have been given the title of a Playmate.

JM: Did you always envision being part of Playboy?

AS: Oh yes, very much so. Playboy had always been my inspiration for modeling. I used to buy everything from clothes to jewelry with the Playboy logo on them! I have always admired Playboy for celebrating beautiful, and curvaceous women at their best and keeping the ideal women form in focus. None of this skinny clothes horse Vogue rubbish. The only reason fashion models are all skinny and flat chested, are because the designers for the clothing lines are all gay, so therefore they want the models to look more like men, with no womanly shape to them.

DSC_6258JM: Who do you admire and look up to?

AS: I admire quite a few talented people, but I don’t look up to anyone.

JM: What type of action did you take when you decided that you wanted to be a model?

AS: I had a friend take some studio shots of me for the fun of it, and then we put them on a social modeling network, then before I knew it, I was lucky enough to have been selected for my first professional shoot. I was only 16 when I started to model, and the first job I had was for an online boutique selling rock ‘n’ roll type of clothing.

DSC_4358bwJM: Describe some setbacks that you have had, and how did you learn from them?

AS: The hardest setbacks are always the ones you give and manifest yourself. I believe only you can hold you back from whatever it is your heart truly desires to do.

JM: How do you deal with negativity?

AS: The only way to deal with negativity in this industry, is to brush it straight off. People will always be out there to have something negative to say. The truth is, if they have any negative response to you, it can only be to do with the fact that is a reflection on how they feel towards themselves. Positive people only have positive things to say, so the rest isn’t worth even listening to.

DSC_2799JM: Do you believe in setting goals?

AS: I do indeed. One must always set goals so they have a point to work towards and work out the mini goals you must set yourself in order to reach the bigger ones.

JM: What do you do to get through a tough day?

AS: I whistle while I work.

JM: Any plans on coming to the US for modeling, TV, or movies?

AS: Yes, I will be making my first visit to the Playboy mansion this fall, so I am very much looking forward to meeting other lovely Playmates, and of course the man himself ‘Sir Hugh Hefner’ oh, and his new bride. With regards to work, I will explore all my options for TV and film while I’m out there.

JM: If you could give one piece of advice, what would it be?

AS: Always follow your heart. As dreams really do come true.
